Women’s Health

Women’s Mental Health

Bristol Women’s Voice is an advocate for the health of women and girls in our city.

We are raising the profile of women’s specific health issues and believe a gendered approach to all aspects of health must be taken by our city’s leaders. We are currently focusing on mental health and well-being and running a series of sessions with women and girls around the city.

Our women’s health sessions involve community groups and provide an opportunity for women to voice their concerns and learn more about their individual needs.
Bristol Women’s Voice also links women to organisations that can best support them.

Black Women Pause

In partnership with Nilaari, ReThink and CASS Bristol we have been running online peer support sessions for Black, Asian and minoritized women to promote emotional well-being and to share self-help tips and information.

Recognising the Signs and Busting the Stigma Around  Women´s Mental Health

Alongside Changes we have hosted workshops on women’s mental health to bustsome myths around how mental health is understood and stigmatised and suggest how gender can create specific challenges for mental health.
The global pandemic has also exacerbated mental health concerns for many creating more isolation and anxiety with women finding it difficult to cope or wanting to learn more about how to help others who may be struggling.

Please contact us via project-coordinator@bristolwomensvoice.org.uk for further information about any of these projects.

Menopause Bristol

Following a call from our members for work to be done around menopause (including women who have not yet reached menopausal age) Bristol Women’s Voice have been partnering with other women working in this area to set up support and information.
