Over 55s Health Project Coordinator

Are you passionate about the visibility and inclusion of women aged 55+? Do you want to tackle medical misogyny and the barriers to older women’s health and wellbeing as a result of ageism, sexism and other discriminations?

Bristol Women’s Voice are recruiting for a part-time Project Coordinator to join our dedicated team. We are ideally looking for a woman aged 55 or older.

We offer very flexible working conditions and some paid carer allowance.

Hours: 15-18.75 hours a week (we have funding for 18.75 hours, but offer flexibility is to support to anyone who needs fewer hours due to income from benefits). Some office hours are required but other hours can be worked hybrid.

Occasional out of hours required, e.g. for International Women’s Day which is held on a Saturday close to the 8th March each year and evening events.

Salary: £27,000 pro rata.

Length of contract: until 31 March 2027, with extension subject to continuation funding.

Holiday: 22 days (pro rata) plus bank holidays, plus one discretionary wellbeing day for your birthday.

Key objectives of the role:

  • To develop and establish project for women aged 55 and older to support the visibility and inclusion of older women in health and wellbeing decision making, policy and practice in Bristol.
  • Work with women to identify and develop social action projects to identify and tackle barriers to older women’s health and medical misogyny.
  • Work with project partners, the funder, independent evaluators and organisations nationally to evaluate the project.
