SLEEC (Survivors Leading Essential Education & Change)

SLEEC is a survivor-run organisation that changes systems, supports survivors and dismantles the roots of male violence.

We fight for those with lived-experience of rape, sexual assault and sexual violence to inform and influence all work on misogyny, rape culture and survivor support, across the UK. Survivors must be platformed and centred, rather than tokenised or excluded.

RECOVERY SHOULDN’T BE A LUXURY: We believe all survivors should have access to safety, recovery and healing support without barriers.

We offer the following services:

• A first-response support call/or text/email support: Phone call/messaging service to offer emotional support and advice/signposting speaking to someone who has both professional and lived-experience of trauma and harm.
• Emergency security and protection items to own or loan: Basic phone and sim / personal alarm / locks/lock change / security camera for home / high beam flash torch / red protection spray
• Emergency mini grant: Emergency mini grant of up to £30 (available on the day) for emergency travel to flee violence/harm/danger, for security/safety items, for food or for hostel bed stay. (This can also be a loan if preferred).
• Resilience mini grant: Mini grant of up to £20 for items that support recovery/care/resilience/mental health. (This can also be a loan if preferred).
• Essentials packs for survivors of domestic violence and abuse that are moving into or out of a safehouse/refuge or emergency accommodation: The pack will include essential food items including non-perishables and fresh food as well as towels, laundry products and toiletries. These can be requested in an emergency and delivered directly to the survivor or a trusted person.
